U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said it deported two illegal immigrants wanted in separate murder cases in Mexico.
ICE on Wednesday announced that Agustin Morales-Renteria and Juan Becerra Ruiz, both 24, were deported to Mexico last week.
“Under my watch, Southeast Texas will never become a safe haven for dangerous criminal illegal alien foreign fugitives like these two, regardless of the misinformation and lies being spread over the past couple of weeks by open borders and anti-immigration enforcement groups trying to demonize our officers and undermine our mission,” ERO Houston acting Field Office Director Gabriel Martinez said in a news release.
“In conjunction with our partners, our officers continue to drown out the noise and give everything they have to enforce our nation’s immigration laws without prejudice, while prioritizing enforcement actions that enhance public safety, national security, and border security. As a result of their efforts, these two fugitives will now face justice for their alleged crimes, providing closure to the friends and families of their alleged victims,” he added.
According to ICE, Morales-Renteria is wanted in Mexico on an aggravated homicide warrant issued in October 2021.
The agency said he was first “expelled” from the U.S. in September 2021 before illegally re-entering the country. ICE said Morales-Renteria was later arrested in Missouri on state charges, but no immigration enforcement action was taken at the time under the Biden administration’s immigration priorities.
In November 2025, Morales-Renteria was convicted in federal court of being an illegal immigrant in possession of a firearm and sentenced to 18 months in prison. He was transferred to ICE custody in May, ordered removed by an immigration judge on July 2, and deported July 21.
ICE said Becerra Ruiz is wanted in Querétaro, Mexico, on an intentional homicide warrant issued in October 2022.
U.S. Border Patrol agents located him during a traffic stop in Spring, Texas, on June 4 after receiving information from Mexican authorities. An immigration judge ordered his removal on June 30.
Deportation officers with the agency’s Houston Field Office transported the suspects from the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas, to the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge in Laredo, where Mexican authorities took them into custody, ICE said.
